Tagged Fish Reporting
In conjunction with the Carribean Bonefish Research Program and BTT's ongoing efforts to understand bonefish movements in Carribean waters an increasing number of bonefish are being tagged in order to monitor fish movement. Understanding bonefish movement is critical in designing effective management. For example, if bonefish consistently move tens of miles, then protected areas that allow catch and release fishing for bonefish must be large enough to accommodate movement.
If you catch a tagged bonefish, we encourage you to report the catch along with the following helpful information:
Location: as specifically as possible
Fish Size: (length - nose to tail fork)
Date Caught:
Tag removed or still in place:
